Abstract
The growth of single crystals of methyl-p-hydroxy benzoate, which have a powder second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency 40 times larger than that of urea and a cut-off wavelength less than 200 nm, is report ed. The ''gel-solution technique'' was used to grow these crystals. Hi gh quality single crystals with dimensions of 25 x 12 X 10 mm(3) were obtained.
