Abstract
To aid in the functional partitioning of a system into interacting har dware and software components, fast yet accurate estimations of hardwa re size are necessary. We introduce a technique for obtaining such est imates in two orders of magnitude less time than previous approaches w ithout sacrificing substantial accuracy, by incrementally updating a d esign model for a changed partition rather than re-estimating entirely .
