Abstract
We prepared Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy single crystals by a self-flux method using a crucible with a cap. From the results, we found that the optimum tem perature and period for melting the starting materials were 1000 degre es C and 5 h, respectively. Plate-like Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy single crystals w ith the size of 6 x 2 mm(2) were obtained and had an 80 K single-phase .
