Gc. Futoran et al., THE TEMPORAL IMPACT OF MANAGEMENT FACULTY STYLE AND COURSE CHARACTERISTICS - SOME THEORETICAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL IMPLICATIONS, Group & organization management, 20(3), 1995, pp. 310-336
Faculty evaluation and semester grade effects of management faculty co
mmunication style variables (expressiveness and supportiveness) operat
ing through intervening course variables (fairness and student persona
l fit with course) were assessed in a longitudinal study of two separa
te student samples (n = 265 and 340, respectively) using structural eq
uation modeling (LISREL-7). Based on the study results, managerial imp
lications for faculty development that recognize and respond to the mu
ltidimensional aspects of student learning are discussed and the findi
ngs are related to broader aspects of the managerial, communication, a
nd education literatures.
