Abstract
Experiments with beta-radioactive Li-8 atoms adsorbed on clean and oxy gen covered W(110) and Ru(0001) surfaces are presented. The detection of the decay electrons allows experiments with adsorbates at extremely low coverages (10(-5) monolayers). Nuclear spin relaxation and nuclea r magnetic resonance experiments are described beside radiation detect ed thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS), a new version of TDS experim ents.
