R. Leboda et al., EFFECT OF THE HYDROTHERMAL TREATMENT METHOD IN AN AUTOCLAVE ON THE SILICA-GEL POROUS STRUCTURE, Materials chemistry and physics, 42(1), 1995, pp. 7-11
Two methods of hydrothermal treatment of silica gels (xerogels) in the
gaseous and the liquid (under a water layer) phase - have been compar
ed. The effect of these methods on the porous structure of xerogels wa
s studied. It was found that the rate of hydrothermal treatment does n
ot differ significantly in the gaseous and liquid phases, and it is mo
st likely to be more chemical processes that occur during hydrothermal
treatment in gaseous and liquid phases.
