Jm. Corbett, CELLULOID PROJECTIONS - IMAGES OF TECHNOLOGY AND ORGANIZATIONAL FUTURES IN CONTEMPORARY SCIENCE-FICTION FILM, Organization, 2(3-4), 1995, pp. 467-488
This paper explores the posited role of technology in our organization
al futures as portrayed in contemporary science fiction films. Whilst
the dominant imagery of such films has much in common with the way new
technology is portrayed in mainstream management and organization tex
ts, it is argued that the latter have much to learn from the imaginati
ve constructions of the developing relationship between technology and
organization that is offered by science fiction film-makers.
