Abstract
Transient thermal impedance for constant current was calculated by div iding the overtemperature of a given spot within a silicon pellet with power losses. The calculation of a temperature field in a silicon pel let was based on the assumption that losses are produced in the silico n pellet only. Calculation results of transient thermal impedance for constant current of one power thyristor were compared to its catalog v alues.
