Abstract
Laser implantation of mercury into the surface layer of cadmium tellur ide crystals is used to produce CdHgTe thin films. Pulsed laser irradi ation of cadmium telluride crystals brought in contact with the mercur y melt or vapor promotes mercury diffusion to a depth of 15 mu m.
