Abstract
Gamma-nickel oxyhydroxide (gamma-NiOOH) was prepared from the reaction of nickel with NaOH at similar to 850 degrees C. The reaction product s were separated by leaching with water after the system was cooled. T he product, characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray d iffractometry, infrared and thermogravimetric methods, was found to be gamma-NiOOH.
