H. Karl et M. Leinemann, A FAST AND QUANTITATIVE DETECTION METHOD FOR NEMATODES IN FISH FILLETS AND FISHERY PRODUCTS, Archiv für Lebensmittelhygiene, 44(5), 1993, pp. 124-125
A quantitative detection method for nematodes in fish and fishery prod
ucts is described. The technique involves pressing of the fish same to
a thin layer of a few millimetres and detection of nematodes under V-
light at 366 nm. The recovery rates of nematodes from saithe and herri
ng fillets and from minced meat equal or exceed those of the digestion
method. The technique is rapid and suitable for large-scale surveys o
f nematodes in various fishery products.
