Abstract
In their comment, Thomas and Ramaswamy (1993) contend that our finding s, which revealed a relationship between deregulation and changes in t he characteristics of top managers, are not generalizable beyond the r ailroad industry. In this rejoinder we take issue with their criticism s of our work and argue that the results of their airline industry stu dy fail to provide compelling evidence in support of their contention.
