Optical absorption, thermoluminescence and thermoluminescence emission
of nickel-doped CsCl crystals are measured. The presence of nickel in
the host matrix has been confirmed by two absorption bands observed a
t 225 and 246 nm. Among the four glow peaks observed at 341, 363, 378
and 396 K the former three are attributed to thermal decay of F center
s and the latter to F centers in the vicinity of nickel impurity. F bl
eaching does not produce any Z type centers.
