Abstract
This article explores the use of the Competing Values Framework of Org anizational Effectiveness and of Managerial Leadership as a tool for h elping organizational members better understand the similarities and d ifferences of managerial leadership roles at various levels of hierarc hy Based on a series of interviews, similarities and differences betwe en managerial roles at different levels of organizational hierarchy ar e examined. Three organizational interventions are described which use the Competing Values Framework in order to increase managers' communi cation and understanding across levels.
