Based on a description of various ,,scandals'' involving both foreign and home-produced wines, the paper presents suggestions on how to rend er wine controlling authorities more powerful and efficient: Develop n ew analytical methods, procure up-to-date information, often change te st programs, get specialized, amplify analytics in quality wine inspec tion, set up must statistics.
