Ma. Eiteman et Jw. Goodrum, HEAT-CAPACITY OF THE TRIGLYCERIDES - TRICAPROIN, TRICAPRYLIN AND TRICAPRIN, Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 71(5), 1994, pp. 549-550
Heat capacities of tricaproin, tricaprylin, tricaprin and their binary
mixtures were determined between 325 and 423 degrees K. In this tempe
rature range, the heat capacity of tricaproin increased from 174 to 20
6 cal/mol-K, of tricaprylin from 221 to 281 cal/mol-K and of tricaprin
from 276 to 309 cal/mol-K. Mixtures of tricaproin/tricaprin and trica
prylin/tricaprin behave as ideal solutions, while a mixture of tricapr
oin/tricaprylin did not behave as an ideal solution for this temperatu
re range.
