C. Zimmermann et K. Wulfert, BIOGAS PLANT FOR FLOTATION FERMENTATION - TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE GAINEDFROM RUNNING A PLANT, Die Fleischwirtschaft, 74(5), 1994, pp. 490
The biogas plant at the livestock and meat centre in Hamburg began to
operate in February 1992 and since then has exploited the flotation sl
udge resulting from effluent treatment. After almost a year's successf
ul running of the plant it would seem that expectations as regards bio
logical breakdown, gas production, sludge utilization and servicing co
sts have been met. This economic, ecological and process engineering c
oncept has passed all its tests. The plant can be used as a model for
other slaughterhouses.
