Abstract
This article presents an attempt to develop and characterize a new fin ite range model for survival analysis, which has all the properties of a p.d.f. It can be used both as an increasing failure rate (IFR) or a decreasing failure rate (DFR), depending upon the choice of its shape parameter, i.e., less than or greater than unity, respectively. Other forms of the model for system lives and acceleration modelling are al so provided. Two data sets are provided where the model is found fit.
