A. Legrouri et al., ISOPROPANOL DECOMPOSITION OVER COBALT-SUBSTITUTED CALCIUM-PHOSPHATE CATALYSTS, Materials chemistry and physics, 38(1), 1994, pp. 94-97
Mixed calcium-cobalt phosphates. of formula Ca3-xCOx(PO4)2 where 0 les
s-than-or-equal-to x less-than-or-equal-to 1.1, were prepared by copre
cipitation. Physicochemical characterization showed that the solids ob
tained resulted from substitution of some Ca2+ ions by Co2+ ions in th
e beta-Ca3(PO4)2 Structure. The solubility limit of cobalt in this str
ucture corresponds to x = 0.31. This limit was observed to coincide wi
th the maximum activity in isopropanol decomposition.
