Abstract
An efficient technique for the calculation of hypersonic chemical non- equilibrium flow is presented. The simulation technique is based on th e Viscous Shock Layer scheme with a shock fitting system. It incorpora tes accurate models for the chemical processes and transport coefficie nts (viscosity, diffusion and heat transfer) of a five species gas mod el (O2, N2, NO, O and N). This scheme has a good convergence feature a nd is robust.
