The interface structure model based on near coincidence site lattice (
NCSL) theory is investigated in a highly mismatched system of (001) Bi
-Sr-Ca-Cu-O (BSCCO) films on (001) substrates of a garnet-structure ma
terial with a 12 angstrom lattice length. As expected by the interface
structure model, irregular in-plane orientation of BSCCO[210] paralle
l sub. [100] is realized by using (001) GGG (gadolinium gallium garnet
) substrates. The (001) BSCCO films are found to have a biaxially alig
ned in-plane texture consisting of BSCCO[210] parallel GGG[100] and BS
CCO[210] parallel GGG[100] domains. The critical temperature up to 67
K is observed in regard to the superconductivity.
