Abstract
This paper describes a number of reliability tasks and techniques, inc luding reliability modeling and prediction, FMECA, ESS, failure analys is, redundancy, and others. Each of these is examined to assess its us efulness and general cost-effectiveness. Suggestions are offered for d eciding whether or not to use any of these tasks and techniques during the design and manufacture of commercial equipment.
