The growth kinetics of single crystal of glucuronic acid lactone was s
tudied in aqueous solution. The relationship between the growth rates
and supersaturation at 35 degrees C was presented and discussed. A gro
wth mechanism was identified by comparing the results with theoretical
models and calculating the alpha-factors. The results appear to sugge
st that crystal growth of glucuronic acid lactone can be explained by
a screw dislocation mechanism (BCF model).
