Abstract
A new crystal modification of MgSO3.3H2O was identified, prepared as a pure phase and corresponding x-ray diffraction data determined. This new modification is formed by spontaneous crystallization of a solid-f ree aqueous solution of magnesium sulphite supersaturated with respect to MGSO3.3H2O at temperatures exceeding 80-degrees-C.
