This paper reports on a study of interpersonal conflicts in the workpl
ace using a process model proposed by Thomas (1992) as a framework. Th
ree stages of this model are examined: the issues involved, the behavi
oral responses elicited, and the personal consequences. The relationsh
ip of issues and behaviors to consequeces is determined within the con
text of the organizational positions of the parties (supervisor, subor
dinate, co-worker).
