Courses were organized on office automation using computers for non-te
aching staff of the University. A questionnaire was administered to fi
nd out the relationship between the effectiveness of the training prog
ramme and the department to which the trainees belong. It is concluded
that, for increasing effectiveness of such programmes, it is preferab
le to organize separate courses for staff working in different categor
ies of post.
