T. Baudin et R. Penelle, DETERMINATION OF THE TOTAL TEXTURE FUNCTION FROM INDIVIDUAL ORIENTATIONS MODELED BY A LORENTZIAN DISTRIBUTION, Journal of applied crystallography, 26, 1993, pp. 207-213
The technique of individual orientation measurement allows the calcula
tion a total texture function by the harmonic method. However, it is n
ecessary to test some of the parameters used to model each orientation
. One important parameter is the shape of the function so the influenc
e of two distributions (Gaussian and Lorentzian) is discussed. With ad
justment of some other parameters, such as p, which characterizes the
texture sharpness, it appears that similar results are obtained with t
he two models even if the Lorentzian function is more difficult to app
ly to polycrystalline materials.
