Abstract
A combination of a higher order panel method and a second order bounda ry layer calculation is used for the analysis of the flow around gener ic hypersonic configurations. A new approach to simulate the flow sepa rating from smooth surfaces at low speeds and high incidence is presen ted. The essential elements of the method are discussed and the numeri cal technique is applied to the hypersonic configuration ELACI. Some r esults and a comparison with experiments are presented.
