J. Koops et D. Westerbeek, MANGANESE IN DUTCH MILK POWDER - DETERMINATION BY ZEEMAN-CORRECTED STABILIZED-TEMPERATURE PLATFORM-FURNACE ATOMIC-ABSORPTION SPECTROSCOPY, Netherlands milk and dairy journal, 47(1), 1993, pp. 1-13
Details are given of a Zeeman-furnace atomic-absorption method of dete
rmining manganese (Mn) in milk powder. The procedure involves determin
ation of Mn in diluted acid-boiled samples of milk powder with palladi
um and magnesium as a matrix modifier. Thirty-six whole-milk powders p
roduced in various parts of the Netherlands and in different periods o
f the year were analysed for Mn. The average content was 0.21 mug/g to
tal solids. Milk was calculated to contain about 25 mug/kg.
