Abstract
The glass-forming region in the Te-Ag-I system is determined. The glas sy phases contain 40-70 at.% tellurium, 2-18 at.% silver and 20-50 at. % iodine. The boundaries of the region are determined through X-ray an d electron microscopic investigations. The gassy phases are characteri zed by the glass-transition temperature T(g), density d, microhardness H(mu), molecular weight M, average molecular volume V, and chemical d urability. On the basis of the above investigations, a structural mode l of the glasses is proposed.
