Abstract
Public perception of food safety and the risks involved with eating ar e of major concern. Even good science does little to reduce these perc eptions of risk. The public does not understand dose response and look s at risk from a different point of view than scientists. Surveys of c onsumer attitudes do not always accurately reflect what actions consum ers prefer.
