Kj. Scott et Dj. Hart, FURTHER OBSERVATIONS ON PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ANALYSIS OF CAROTENOIDS BY HPLC-2 - COLUMN TEMPERATURE, Food chemistry, 47(4), 1993, pp. 403-405
Using a chromatographic system which has previously been shown to give
excellent separation of lutein, zeaxanthin, beta-cryptoxanthin, lycop
ene and alpha- and beta- carotene, changes in ambient temperature caus
ed dramatic differences in the chromatographic response of carotenoids
. This study demonstrates the effect of column temperature on the elut
ion time and elution profile and the importance of temperature control
in reducing analytical variation. The optimum resolution was achieved
at 20-22.5-degrees-C.
