Abstract
The present study examined the dimensionality of K. Kumar and M. Beyed ein's Measure of Ingratiatory Behaviors in Organizational Settings (MI BOS) scale, which is composed of four subscales: (a) Other Enhancement , (b) Opinion Conformity, (c) Self-Presentation, and (d) Favor Renderi ng. Confirmatory factor analysis using LISREL7 on data collected from 203 state government employees failed to confirm the Kumar and Beyerle in solution. Follow-up analyses using exploratory factor analysis high light the difficulties involved in arriving at an unequivocal solution that adequately distinguishes scale items. Suggestions are offered to improve the psychometric properties of the MIBOS scale.
