Recent developments of shearography open new possibilities for fast, r
eliable and economic nondestructive testing of materials. Now deformat
ions of the surface of the component to be inspected are registered wi
th a video camera and processed with a computer. This leeds to rapidly
increased testing velocity and enables automatic evaluation of the te
sting results. TV-shearography is demonstrated at some nondestructive
testing applications of dashboards, aeroplane composite components and
pipeline inspection.
