Abstract
This paper reports the fluorescence characteristics of the CeF3 (0.1 g ) doped CaS, LaOF, YOF, (La,Gd)OF and (La,Y)OF powder phosphors. Under a UV lamp (150 watt) the CaS:CeF3 phosphor exhibits a bright green co lour, whereas the same CeF3 dopant in lanthanide oxyhalides results in their fluorescence in the UV region, with a wavelength shift of aroun d 150 nm from the green-wavelength region.
