E. Gil et Jc. Bazan, ON THE INFLUENCE OF APPLIED CONTACT PRESSURE ON THE KINETIC-BEHAVIOR OF THE ALPHA-AGI I2(G),GRAPHITE ELECTRODE/, Materials chemistry and physics, 35(2), 1993, pp. 155-159
It was found that the kinetic behavior of the electrodic interface alp
ha-AgI/I2(g), graphite is strongly dependent on the pressure applied t
o the contact. The voltammetric response at low contact pressure shows
an anodic peak but no cathodic one, whereas at higher pressures the o
pposite is found. The transition between the two cases is obtained at
an applied pressure of about 10-12 kg cm-2. An explanation is given fo
r the behavior at low contact pressure, based on the formation of a re
sistive effect due to the products of the anodic reaction.
