S. Kulandaisamy et al., CHARACTERIZATION AND EVALUATION OF IRIDIUM COBALTITE OXYGEN-EVOLVING ELECTRODES - INFLUENCE OF COMPOSITION AND TEMPERATURE OF PREPARATION, Materials chemistry and physics, 35(2), 1993, pp. 176-180
A catalytically active titanium electrode (CATE) based on 'mixed-cryst
al' oxides of cobalt and iridium was prepared by pyrolysis of cobalt a
nd iridium chlorides. The electrodes were tested electrochemically und
er the O2 evolution condition, employing cyclic voltammetric and galva
nostatic accelerated polarisation techniques in 0.5 M H2SO4. The struc
tural and morphological aspects were also analysed using X-ray diffrac
tion and scanning electron microscopy. From the data collected, the op
timum composition and temperature were determined. The results are cor
related and discussed.
