G. Huan et al., HYDROTHERMAL SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF VANADYL ALKYLPHOSPHONATES VORPO3.H2O, Materials chemistry and physics, 35(3-4), 1993, pp. 199-204
A series of layered compounds of general composition VO(CnH2n+1PO3) .
yH2O (y = 1.5, 1 less-than-or-equal-to n less-than-or-equal-to 3; y =
1.0, 4 less-than-or-equal-to n less-than-or-equal-to 8) has been synth
esized by hydrothermal reaction of V2O3 and the corresponding alkylpho
sphonic acid in water at 200-degrees-C. The compounds with n less-than
-or-equal-to 3 have structures similar to that of VO(HPO4) . 0.5H2O. T
he compositions with 4 less-than-or-equal-to n less-than-or-equal-to 8
also are layered, with structures apparently related to that of VO(C6
H5PO3) . H2O. The phases with n greater-than-or-equal-to 4 have compos
itions and structures identical to those of the compounds prepared via
water treatment of the benzyl alcohol intercalation compounds VO(CnH2
n+1PO3) . H2O . C6H5CH2OH, which were reported previously.
