Abstract
From combing the concepts of fuzzy set theory and hierarchical structu re analysis, a robot selection algorithm is proposed. It is used to ag gregate decision-makers' fuzzy assessments about criteria weightings a nd the suitability ratings of a robot vs various selection criteria to obtain fuzzy suitability indices. The suitability ratings are then ra nked to select the most suitable robot. By utilizing this decision alg orithm, the decision-makers' fuzzy assessments with various rating att itudes and the trade-off between various selection criteria can be tak en into account in the aggregation process to ensure more convincing a nd accurate decision-making.
