Technique to determine levels of soya bean lectin in feed samples and digesta samples collected in vivo

Two immunoassays, a capture ELISA and a functional assay, have been develop ed to measure soya bean lectin levels in feed and ileal digesta samples col lected in vivo. These techniques can be used in conjunction to quantify soy a bean lectin by it's biological activity and aspects of it's protein struc ture. These assays are sensitive, specific for soya bean lectin, require on ly small amounts of sample, and allow the processing of large numbers of sa mples at one time.
