Abstract
The existence of metastable phases in the Zn-As system is predicted ba sed on the correlation between the T-g/T-m ratio and the critical cool ing rate. A kinetic approach is used to study the amorphization behavi or of molten Zn-As alloys. The parameters characterizing crystallizati on kinetics at the maximum nucleation rate are assessed.
