Ag. Belous et al., EFFECT OF SYNTHESIS PROCEDURE ON THE CRYSTALLIZATION OF YTTRIA-STABILIZED ZIRCONIA, Inorganic materials, 33(12), 1997, pp. 1246-1250
Crystallization of yttria-stabilized zirconia from successively and si
multaneously precipitated zirconium and yttrium hydroxides (ZrO2:Y2O =
97:3 or 92:8) was studied by differential thermal analysis, x-ray dif
fraction, IR absorption spectroscopy, nitrogen BET measurements, and t
ransmission electron microscopy. The nature and content of water in th
e precipitates are found to affect the particle size of the resultant
yttria-stabilized zirconia powder.
