Abstract
Electrical stunning was evaluated in commercial slaughter rabbits. Dif ferent voltage applications with varying current duration were tested in recovery experiments in 71 animals. Stunning parameters and duratio n of insensibility were measured and analysed for assessing stunning e ffectiveness. A minimum stunning current of 140 mA which can be achiev ed with application of 100 V was recommended. (C) 1997 Elsevier Scienc e Ltd. All rights reserved.
