Abstract
The entropy variation is related with the angular changes in gaussian and super-gaussian beams reflected by a planar interface. This formali sm carries to justify the method employed by other authors to derive t he angular change in monochromatic beams. The characteristics of the e ntropy function and some relations with parameters of the interface (a s critical and Brewster angles) are taken into account.
