The action of various types of microencapsulated fire retardants in po
lyolefins has been studied. It was shown that fire retardant on the ba
se of diamide of methylphosphonic acid (DAPA) can be used for common p
urposes. However, for best results it should be microencapsulated befo
rehand. It allows one to process materials under the usual technologic
al conditions. Moreover, the choice of appropriate coating can also re
duce flammability and improve thermoprotection properties of materials
