Abstract
Fundamental modifications of conventional phase Doppler anemometer are described in order ro measure the diameter and the velocity of a molt en metal jet. These modifications result in a new kind of experimental PDA-setup called plane-PDA. Using the diameter and velocity informati on, it is possible to determine the mass flux of molten metal jets. Re sults on rigid metal bars are presented.
