Predictive validity is generally taken to he the prime validity that o
ccupationally normed interest inventories should demonstrate. Such val
idity is necessarily dependent on the capacity of an instrument to dif
ferentiate between occupations. A comparison of two methods of differe
ntiating is made, with one revealing superior results.
