Abstract
The Interactive Mathematics Program has created a four-year secondary- school curriculum designed to provide a sound mathematics background f or all secondary students. This article describes various characterist ics that must go into such a curriculum in order for it to be successf ul with all students and discusses crucial elements that are needed fo r its successful implementation.
