Abstract
Two different sets of processed cotton fabrics were investigated by FT -IR and FT-Raman spectroscopy. The chemometric technique of principal component analysis, was applied to the IR and Raman spectra from each fabric series in an attempt to discriminate between the various proces sing stages. The results indicate that a combination of the two techni ques and chemometrics adequately discriminates between cotton samples from each processing stage.
