Abstract
The reaction of 3-phenyl- and 3-pyridylsidnones with butyl-lithium and 3-phenylsidnone with MeYbI in cold THF solutions was monitored by FT- IR spectroscopy. Butyl-lithium was found to form with sidnone derivati ves chelate adducts which are intermediates in the preparation of the 4-derivatives. MeYbI reacts with 3-phenylsidnone to give a complex, in which the Yb atom is bound to the exo-oxygen atom.
